Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, one of the flagship vehicles of Maruti Suzuki hasn’t lost its spark amongst the buyers ever since it entered the Indian market. It is getting popular day by day as it’s been seen a steady growth throughout its lifetime.

The Wagon R LXI CNG (O) variant is powered by 1.0-liter 3-cylinder K-series engine
capable of putting out 60 PS of max power and 77 Newton meter of Max torque. This aluminum engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission which operates through a cable type gear shift mechanism. The combination of ventilated discs and drums provides the necessary stopping power to the Wagon R. This variant can go up to a top speed of 137 kmph. This variant can give an average mileage of up to 26.6 kmpl which is quite convenient for the fuel type used. This variant is available in 6 colors. Its kerb weight is 965 kgs.

Among the key safety features, Wagon R LXI CNG (O) variant has dual front airbags, impact absorbing body structure, collapsible steering wheel, driver seat belt warning indicator, anti-theft security system, headlamp leveling device, rear Child lock, and front wiper with fixed and intermittent speed feature.

For the comfort and convenience of the occupants, Maruti has equipped this variant with sun visors (with driver side having the ticket holder), storage space on the instrument panel cluster, front passenger seatback pocket, electronic power steering, front power windows, central door locking, push type Cup holder on the console, grip assists, manual heating, ventilation and air conditioning, sliding and reclining front seats, and 60:40 split rear seat. In addition, one also gets the features like floor console with cup holder, utility hooks, 12-volt accessory socket, and digital fuel indicator.


The 13-inch wheels are suspended through McPherson Strut and trailing link at the back while the stopping power is provided by a combination of disc and drums brakes. The fuel tank capacity is 35 liters while CNG cylinder capacity is rated t 60-liters. The safety and security features on this Lxi CNG (O) are airbags in the front, seat belts, Steering wheel with a collapsible feature, body structure with energy absorbing feature, beams for minimizing the side collision impact, child lock on the rear doors, engine immobilizer and child safety lock, headlamp levelling, front wipers with intermittent speeds, warning lamp for driver seat belt, etc.  Handling is good enough though roll-out can be felt at high speeds resulting in low high-speed stability.

Though may at times feel the steering going out of your control as it shakes off at high speeds, the car gives a smooth ride on city and highways. It is quite easy to handle and very safe to drive around corners. 

The electrically assisted power steering wheel makes the driving easy and although it doesn’t provide feedback on the highway, you will have no complaint about its lightness while driving on the congested roads throughout the city.
